Exciting news regarding our own the Rev. Matthew Senf who serves the Cathedral as Assistant to the Dean.
This week Lutheran Bishop Kathy Martin announced the appointment of Rev. Matthew Senf as the Assistant to the Bishop, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations. Rev. Matthew will be serving in this role part time, connecting with other denominations and faiths.
Matthew (BA, BSocSc, M.Div) has been a pastor in the BC Synod for 12 years with most of that time being spent in ecumenical ministry settings. In addition to being both Assistant to the Bishop, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations and Assistant to the Dean at Christ Church Anglican Cathedral in Vancouver, Matthew is a Red Seal journeyman carpenter and principal of Sasen Homes.
Married to his beloved Rose for 20 years now, they have 2 daughters, Megan and Ava and live in Burnaby. Matthew is an avid outdoorsman, whiskey aficionado, liturgist, motorcycle enthusiast, woodworker, and budding pilot.
When asked about being appointed to this position Matthew offered: "I'm super pleased to be of use in a support position to our Bishop and to the wider church of the synod...ora pro nobis!"
We are excited for Mathew who will continue at the Cathedral as well. Matthew sees the new appointment as an extension of the ministry he is already invovled with through the Cathedral. Please join me in congratulating Matthew for his appointment.
