Deacon Jeffrey to serve in Ministry to the Diocese

Dear Friends in Christ,

I have some important news regarding our colleague, Dcn. Jeffrey Preiss.  Many of you know Dcn. Jeffrey Preiss well and appreciate his dedication to our Christ Church Cathedral community since 2017.

Dcn. Jeffrey will be embarking on a new and exciting chapter in his ministry. He has been offered a secondment opportunity within the Diocese of New Westminster.  A secondment is a temporary reassignment at a yet undisclosed location within the Diocese. He will be, in other words, on loan.  This will allow Dcn Jeffrey to serve the Diocese in one or more assignments over the near future.

We will miss Dcn. Jeffrey’s presence here at the Cathedral, and we are thrilled for this opportunity for him and for the Diocese. This is an example of how the Cathedral can support and resource the ministries of the larger Diocese.

Dcn. Jeffrey’s last Sunday at the Cathedral will be Pentecost Sunday, May 19th. The specific details and end date of the secondment are still being finalized.

In the meantime, please join me in expressing our sincere gratitude to Dcn. Jeffrey for his many contributions to our Cathedral family.
