Anniversary Hymn Fest a Big Success

On the afternoon of Sunday, May 26th, approximately seventy-five singers gathered in the nave of the Cathedral to take part in “Hymn Fest 35 for 135”, singing selected verses of 35 chosen hymns in celebration of the 135th anniversary of Christ Church Cathedral in 2024. 

The singers were comprised of members of the Christ Church Cathedral choir, parishioners of the Cathedral, and attendees from around the Diocese who came to participate in this very unique singalong. 

The event was accompanied and led by the Cathedral’s Director of Music, Dr. Rupert G Lang. Dean Christopher Pappas, Rector of Christ Church Cathedral and Dean of the Diocese, and Hymn Fest co-organizer (organized alongside of Rupert Lang) Carol Cook ODNW both offered words of welcome and thanks to all whom attended. 

It was a joyful afternoon of singing together and the feedback was wonderful, with all in attendance requesting another event of the same! Thank you to all who participated!
