Donations for Thanksgiving Fruit and VegetablesSubmitted by Sarah Nation Each Thanksgiving, our Altar Guild creates a beautiful display of bounty at the Altar through the use of flowers, fruit and vegetables. As we have in the past few years, there will be more of an emphasis on buying fruit and vegetables, which can then be used by the Maunday Cafe in the following weeks to provide nourishing hot soups and stews for our Maundy guests. On Sunday, September 29 and October 6 we will be collecting donations to decorate the Cathedral for our Thanksgiving Sunday services on October 13th. There will be someone to accept your donations in the Narthex after the 8:00am service and downstairs in the hall during coffee hour after the 10:30am service. If you participate in the services online or attend St. Brigids and Compline in person, you may phone Vanessa Ho during the week and make a donation using your credit card or by sending in a cheque. Thank you for your continued support as we beautify our Cathedral space and help feed our neighbours. (Photo by Ben Dobyns) |
