Noelby J.R.R. Tolkien (1936)
Grim was the world and grey last night: The moon and stars were fled, The hall was dark without song or light, The fires were fallen dead. The wind in the trees was like to the sea, And over the mountains’ teeth It whistled bitter-cold and free, As a sword leapt from its sheath. [...] For more infomation visit:

40-min forums in early 2025
We have an exciting new series of forums planned for 2025. We typically gather in the Park Room from 9.15am-9.55am on Sundays to learn about the church, the people in our community and how our church engages with challenging social issues. The forums are an opportunity to get to know fellow church-goers, what matters to our faith community and to learn something new. We look forward to seeing you there! For our first Forum of 2025, we will welcome Neil Cockburn, the Cathedral's new music director, after the 10.30am service. If you have any questions, please connect with Rev. Areeta. Brown YoungIt's Her BROWN YOUNGBy Margaret Macpherson
“It’s her. It’s her.” My kindergarten daughter dances foot to foot, her boots leaving wet puddles on the Value Village floor. I look to the shelves of Christmas bric-a-brac, scanning for the source of her joy. [...]

The 2025 Multifaith Calendar - Pathways to PeaceA gift that lasts the whole year! The colourful, artistic and informative 2025 Multifaith Calendar is a wonderful gift at this time of year for family members and friends. The theme of the 39th edition of this very informative resource is “Pathways to Peace”. As multiple conflicts rage across the world, the dream of true and lasting world peace is universal, yet elusive. What will it take for people to finally set aside their deeply-felt differences and historical grievances to find a common vision for humanity? Learning more, day by day and month by month, about the spiritual observances of all the major religions around the world and around our neighbourhoods is a starting point. Spiritual leaders have posited that we cannot achieve global peace and unity until we realize peace within our communities and ourselves. The 2025 Multifaith Calendar – Pathways to Peace opens hearts to knowledge, understanding, and celebration. For further information and to order calendars - $15 each and 2 for $25 contact Donna Wong-Juliani: donna@thecathedral.ca |
