Holy Saturday Peace Pilgrimage:
On Holy Saturday, April 19th, and for the second year in a row, Christians are being invited to join a global ecumenical movement of people walking in prayerful solidarity, and at this historic juncture, particularly with those now suffering within Gaza and the West Bank.
Here in Vancouver, the pilgrimage is set to begin at Christ Church Cathedral, and will officially include parishioners from St. Andrew's Wesley, Artisan, Grandview Baptist, Open Way, and Trinity Grace United.
The pilgrimage will span 5 hours (from approximately 10:00 am - 3:00 pm) and will involve walking 10 km through the city of Vancouver. Participants can choose to walk the full distance, or begin at one station and stop at another. The stations will include five of the above mentioned churches and will serve as a time for participants to reflect and refresh.
The hope is for us to walk together, pray together, commune together, and share in conversation together. Stations will include prayerful reflections on five themes related to peace, and will include time to meditate on how these themes connect to the story of Jesus' co-suffering love.
Visit this website for more details about the walk route, and to register for lunch. Even if you don't register, you're welcome to show up, either for a portion, or for the full pilgrimage.
