Biography
Born and raised right here in the lower mainland, I’ve seen many changes in the city over the decades. I’ve been involved in the community in many ways as a volunteer with various non-profit organizations who have a vision and mission to improve the quality of life for anyone who finds themselves on the margins. I’ve been in private practice as a Registered Clinical Counsellor since 1987 and after graduating from the Vancouver School of Theology with a credential in Spiritual Direction added that sacred work to my practice. I’ve recently had the privilege of teaching at VST in their Pastoral and Spiritual Care and Practice course.
What I do here
I’ve been a Deacon here at the Cathedral with a ministry in spiritual formation since 2009. My particular interest is in the intersection of psychology and spirituality and how they both have a place in our faith journey.
My ministry at the Cathedral includes:
- Pastoral care
- Facilitating quiet days, Safe Church trainings, Finding God In…series
- Preaching and serving in worship
- Chaplain to the Mental Health Ministry
Favourite..
My very favourite role in life is grandmother. I have three amazing grandchildren who are now young adults. It is a joy and a privilege to be a consistent presence in their lives as they embark on the journey into “adulting”. I also love to sit in a chair as the sun shines in and relax with my favourite mystery book.
