Christ Church Cathedral is the City’s cathedral. The building is used for worship by the parish community, but many other groups in the city use the Cathedral for various types of gatherings that serve to enrich the wider community. These are some ways community groups make use of the Cathedral:
The Cathedral plays host to many local, provincial and national calibre performers. We regularly host performances of all types: from Classical and Sacred Music to Rock and Metal, Spoken Word, Literary Readings, and so much more. We're proud to be a venue for Candlelight concerts, the West Coast Symphony Orchestra and Early Music Vancouver, as well as local community groups.
The Cathedral has been given the accolade of the “best mid-sized performance venue in downtown Vancouver.”
Various community groups have found in the Cathedral a welcoming, accessible space for small group meetings. We warmly welcome recovery groups and support groups, as well as other groups that offer the community opportunities to gather, learn, and grow together.
If you are having a wedding or funeral at the Cathedral and wish to hold a reception afterwards, please speak to the clergy assisting you with your event.
