Please join me in welcoming the Rev. Jenny Wong NAM to the Cathedral.
Born and bred in Hong Kong, Jenny Wong NAM studied sociology in Edmonton, theology in Vancouver, Montreal and New York.
In 1985, she was ordained in this cathedral and subsequently served in St. Matthias(now renamed St. Titus), St. Philip’s and St. Chad’s, respectively. She returned to Hong Kong to be Chaplain of St. Paul Boys’ College (an Anglican school established in 1851) and later as Principal of St. Stephen’s Girls’ College(1906), during which time she also served as Honorary Chaplain at St. John’s Cathedral.
During Covid, she and her husband Andy returned to Vancouver for retirement. An IT illiterate, Jenny enjoys travelling and music, watching re-runs of Inspector Morse and Poirot. In particular, she loves to celebrate the eucharist and learns from the lives and teaching of mystics.
Jenny will preside as an Honorary Priest at Cathedral services from time to time. Please take a moment to welcome Jenny and introduce yourself when you have the opportunity.
