CATS held a prayer vigil with members of the congregation after the 10:30 service on Nov. 17 to pray for all the attendees at the COP 29 conference on climate change, and to pray that global leaders would take decisive action to reduce carbon emissions.
One of the congregation participants, who is eleven years old, wrote and read this beautiful prayer at the vigil:
"God of all creation, we come to you with hearts full of hope for our world and for our future generations. Bless the leaders, activists, and every person who is gathering at COP 29. Grant them courage wisdom and unity as they make decisions for the health of our planet. May their actions reflect love and responsibility toward the Earth and all the life it sustains. Inspire them to find common ground and pursue justice and compassion in their work. May peace and purpose guide their path now and always. God help us honour this planet with choices that sustain and restore so that it may flourish in all its beauty and vitality".
