Dear Friends,
It has been so wonderful to work with Elena and Kaka, our new children's ministry assistants.
Over the past two Sundays, our kids have been involved in doing service for others. We start our sessions with our opening rituals: a prayer/song, lighting of the candle and ringing of the bell. Then the kids reflected on a Bible story where we see an instance of God feeding people. On each of the two Sundays, kids were invited to do some service for others.
On Sunday June 22, they made centerpiece cards for our food ministry, the Maundy Cafe. These cards were placed on the tables for guests. The intention was to add to the warmth and hospitality that the Maundy Cafe provides for its guests.
On Sunday June 29, kids made cookies for the Maundy Cafe to share on June 30th.
Our hope is to continue to offer kids at the Cathedral a regular opportunity to connect their faith with service in the community. If you have ideas on small do-able projects that kids might be able to do during the 10.30am service, or if you would like to volunteer with our children's Sunday school, please contact me. I'd love to hear from you!
