Did you know that the Cathedral’s newest ministry operates entirely through the generosity and creativity of its members? With handcrafted beading work at its heart, the ministry has already created beautiful, all-Canadian rosaries—like those recently gifted to our Primate and the Dean of Canterbury Cathedral—using BC jade, BC rhodonite, and Canadian mixed agate.
Beginning in December, a selection of handmade rosaries will be available for sale by donation in a range of styles, each thoughtfully crafted with care and intention.
It costs between $12 and $125 to create each rosary depending on the type of beads or gem stones we use, and the size of the rosary. Members have already made personal financial contributions to establish this ministry.
To help cover the cost of supplies of these rosaries, the ministry will hold a special rosary auction for the congregation on Sunday, November 23rd in the Parish Hall during coffee hour.
The rosaries will be on display for 10 minutes before the auction begins, giving you plenty of time to choose your favourite.
Proceeds from the auction will go entirely to purchasing the supplies to create more of these deeply meaningful tools for prayer.
We look forward to seeing you at coffee hour—and to sharing the joy and artistry of this growing ministry.
