Our new and exciting Mission Outreach Project, Wheels for Wellness officially launched in June!

For only $16.50, you can provide a much-needed bicycle to a community health worker in one of several African countries*

This project is the result of a 6:1 matching grant secured by PWRDF from Global Affairs Canada to purchase bicycles for Community Health Workers in Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Mozambique.

Community Health Workers provide the vital bridge between doctors and patients delivering comfort and medicine to those in great need who are unable to access assistance. Community Health Workers often walk long distances to reach sick, elderly or incapacitated people.

*Monies generated over and above this total will help provide the Community Health Workers with cell phones and backpacks with medical supplies as well.

Your $16.50 donation will leverage a six-fold matching contribution from Global Affairs Canada, providing Community Health Workers with much-needed transportation.

The Cathedral Parish Council has set a goal of providing 606 bicycles — a donation of $16.50 will be met by a grant from Global Affairs Canada of $99 making it possible for the purchase of 1 bicycle. 606 bicycles can be purchased with our cumulative gifts of $10,000. This is your invitation to participate! You can purchase as many as you wish using envelopes at the Cathedral (please mark it Wheels for Wellness) or you can call the office and make a donation using your credit card. All donations are tax deductible.

Online giving is available via Canada Helps (click here).  Please choose Wheels for Wellness under apply your donation to a specific fund set up by this charity.

Don’t feel limited to $16.50! The more we raise, the more we support these tireless workers.
