Our new and exciting Mission Outreach Project, Wheels for Wellness, is already generating lots of enthusiasm and it won’t even be launched until June 4!
For only $15, you can provide a much-needed bicycle to a community health worker in one of several African countries.
This project is the result of a 6:1 matching grant secured by PWRDF from Global Affairs Canada to purchase bicycles for Community Health Workers in Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Mozambique.
The need is high.
Community Health Workers provide the vital bridge between doctors and patients delivering comfort and medicine to those in great need who are unable to access assistance. Community Health Workers often walk long distances to reach sick, elderly or incapacitated people.
Your $15 donation will leverage a six-fold matching contribution from Global Affairs Canada, providing Community Health Workers with much-needed transportation.
All donations are tax deductible.
Please donate to this initiative via Cathedral donation envelopes, marking it with “Bicycles.” Donation envelopes are available in the Narthex or Parish office during the week (Monday-Friday 10am-4pm) or in bulletins and at the Narthex table during services.
Don’t feel limited to $15! The more we raise, the more we support these tireless workers.
