In 1981, Cathedral parishioners started the 127 Society for Housing. The Society owns and operates three affordable housing projects with 262 units in Vancouver’s Downtown South that house approximately 300 low-income residents who are often hard to house. The Cathedral community continues to offer financial support to the Society through its annual budget.
In the three buildings, there are 152 bachelor apartments for singles, 13 one bedroom apartments for couples and 90 one bedroom single occupancy units. Most tenants are generally 45 years and older.
