Members of Parish Council are elected at the annual Vestry meeting following a nomination process. The council focuses on supporting the goals of:

  • congregational growth in size, outreach and spiritual development
  • increased participation from parishioners in the work of the Cathedral
  • developing guidelines for Cathedral fundraising, events and programs
  • forming Cathedral responses to important decisions (i.e. Synod motion on the Blessing of Same Sex Unions)
  • reviewing of monthly financial reports
  • input into the Restoration and Renewal program and the ongoing capital campaign program
  • supporting emerging social priorities

There are five trustees (six when you include Dean Peter Elliott) who are also members of Parish Council. Among the five trustees are two wardens who serve for a two-year term — a Rector’s Warden who is selected by the rector and a People’s Warden who is elected at Vestry.

Along with the clergy and treasurer, the trustees make up the Cathedral’s “Board of Directors.” They are ultimately responsible for decisions regarding the financial and business life of the church.

Mary McCullum –  People’s Warden

Gary Kenwood, Ian Birtwell – Associate Wardens
